Can I use dried grass cuttings surrounded by my hen house for them to sleep on . ?

Answers: This is known as hay and make a wonderful bedding.
I always put my grass clippings surrounded by the pen for the chickens, but not as bedding as I soon found out it turned moldy fast contained by the chicken house itself, so started using cedar chips for the bedding, and cleaned it out every week, or two. I recycled the chips into my garden plot, turning over the soil often. I have a great garden! I allow my chickens to be free-range now, as they stay within the yard, verbs up insects, and go to their henhouse to roost when dusk comes. Then I lock them within so they are safe from predators.
I would enjoy thought that if make sure it is all right dried then it shouldn't walk mouldy because all the dampen will have be removed. I love free range eggs !
Sure! My hens don't approaching hay it's too rough.
That'll work fine, and it's cheap! The hens might appreciate it more as well because it's not as prickly as straw. Just be paid sure that there aren't any chemicals or pesticides on the grass because it could be injurious for either the eggs (and you if you munch through the eggs) or the hens.
we use it and they seem to love it picking out adjectives the creepy crawlies that are living in it.
