Why do cat's back rise when you pet them?

I was other curious about this.Why do adjectives cats backs rise when you pet it?


Answers:    Like the others said, freshly to let you know that they resembling it and it FEELS SO GOOD. It's just approaching when someone scrateches you back, you soak up that, Right?
I think it's because it feel good and they're a short time ago trying to show you where they similar to it.
My leopard gecko does that too. He's just letting me know he like it. : )
Well, did anyone ever scratch your vertebrae for some reason and it tickles so you squirm around? That's what the cat is doing. They resembling it because it tickles and it feels right.
I believe its' probably a tickling type sensation that cats enjoy ... most of my cats savour it except for one, who gets upset after 10 second or so.
