Why is my cat freaking out over the roof?

My cat has just this minute (just in the closing three days) been freaking out over the ceiling. He sits surrounded by the loungeroom and something will catch his eye and he'll keep under surveillance the ceiling, and move around staring, as if he is chasing something, or he can see something. Thing is, nothing is in attendance. No marks, no bugs, naught.
He'll be happily playing, see it and run. Afterwards, he seem upset or agitated. Is this normal? He is an indoors cat, and is smaller amount than a year old (bout 9 or so months)

Answers:    Maybe nearby are mice in the roof nouns. Cats love and get excited beside high sounds mice and squirrels make which we as human can hardly hear. They budge nuts. This is the only pausible sense why he is doing this.
He might see a fly or something.
Cats are crazy. Just show them lots of attention early and they'll be awesome.
he is playing beside angels! or a spirit! be blessed!
Maybe it's a ghost!
It could be spider web which are hard for you to see.

It could also be a consideration off a ring, mirror, or anything shiny you hold added to the room. What you ignore or your mind processes as a weighing up or a shadow can look like something else to your cat.
Cats tend to see and hear stuff that we can't. It could be a really small fly or it could be desk light or shadows moving around on the ceiling. If you have the disciple on in that room or an close room that can cast shadows on the ceiling. My kitten loves watching them.
My one cat does like at times. I think he "remembers" that the front room ceiling is where on earth he has see the occasional fly or the sun reflecting from a wrist-watch, things of that sort. Even though the original point of interest have now gone, he seem to be looking for it. As for the agitation, it could be frustration. Some years ago, we closed up a crawl-space to keep our cat safe and sound. Still, every now and afterwards he'll check that spot and wail ... as if he's missing something.
Cats chase gnats all the time, and usually we won't see those. No doubt he's watching tiny flying bugs.
I agree near Honey. I would check the attic...with mugging in one appendage and a humane rodent trap in the other.
in good health i hate to voice it...but it means that someone close to you is going to endorse.
I think a cat died on my neighbor's roof.
my cat does that too.he other stares at the ceiling corner.Cats have massively good ears.if your ceiling is the most top floor and there's a roof right over it, afterwards there could be a bird, raccoon, squirrel, etc. paw at the roof.if not, next i don't know what the problem is.he could be fascinated by the lights or he may see something else.
