Answers:
Carry a water bottle.and when he's behind you following and jumping, spray him. He will learn after getting wet a few times, I promise!
when he starts jumping, turn around so your front is facing him.
i would carry a small squirt bottle or gun of some kinda and squirt him when he does it he should get the idea. cats dont understand no as well as dogs do.
also u should consider Soft Paws. you can get them from a Petsmart or Petco. they are little slip covers u can put over his claws the supplies last varyingly according to the cat and then u dont have to get him declawed.

i know how u feel my cat did it too.. u really should try the squirt bottle idea!
Get a spray bottle-like one you would use to water plants. Whenever your cat goes to attack your legs spray him with the water bottle. Make sure it is set on stream instead of mist. Since cats hate water this usually works. This will also work to keep him from doing other annoying things.
I also think he will grow out of it after a while - he's still a "kitten" so to speak.

When she was 7 months old to about 1 1/2 yrs old, my Big Bad Baby Twinkle used to jump out at me from behind the corner wall -- at 5 in the morning -- it made ME jump. Now she's still wild and crazy but more subdued -- and does not do that jumping out of the corner stuff any more -- for which I am eternally grateful!!
