My dogs cornered my cat?

i have 2 bigger dogs.. a border collie and a german shepherd pup and my puppy gets very aggressive with my 2 cats (and sometimes the dogs double-team one cat) but the only thing is when my cat hissed or tried to defend herself, my puppy used to get rougher and i would have to step in. it took a few times of disciplining him and now when i say "stop" he will leave her alone. but i would still keep a watchful eye because of how dogs tend to react when they are threatened.
as for whether they are playing or not, you have to watch their body language. i know my puppy tries to play with my cats because he gets in the classic playing position and wags his tail..lol poor guy just doesn't know his own strength
It doesn't sound like playing to me. I sounds like these dogs want your cat for dinner. Maybe put the cat in a room away from the dogs. Never leave them unsupervised.
The cat will probably be OK. The dachshunds are smaller dogs. the cat will learn to get to higher levels like couches, chairs, tables etc.to avoid giving the dogs a chance to corner her. Besides once your cat puts a couple of claws in to the dogs head.and she will. the cats will learn to leave her alone. So keep an eye on them but don't overly worry about it. - Mark
Are your dachshounds used to cats? If not, then I would be worried. Dachshounds are hunting dogs and not always the best companions for cats, they might see her as prey.
