New 28 gal for Angels?
Answers: The just what the doctor ordered situation for you is to get in the order of 6 young angels through a privately owned pet store next to the agreement that you'll keep the first two to couple up and return the other angels towards the purchase of the other species ("chain" pet stores usually won't let you do this).
A 28 gallon is in the region of the limit for one duet, but until they actually are prepared to spawn, you won't be able to identify the gender. In a group of 6, you're practically guaranteed to have at lowest possible one of each, and from near, let the fish sort themselves out.
The dwarf gouramis should know how to stand up to the angels, but the rainbows may be picked on as the angels mature and settle on to spawn - it might be a better choice to eliminate these, especially since you hold a relatively small tank (for keeping angels) and rainbowfish should be contained by a group of at least 3, near 6 being preferable. Be sure if you hold on to all these together you own plenty of plants and other places where the others can obscure if necessary.
I presume with the sexual category uncertainty, it's almost requisite to get the angels first, so you tolerate let them duet up. If you want to attempt them, I'd add the rainbows subsequent, because these would be the least aggressive of the fish. It may be indispensable to remove the angels for a while if they become territorial right after you add the rainbows, but if the angels are still small, you may just need to remove them for something like half an hour and do some rearrange of the decor to destroy any established "territory". Add the rainbows and permit them get the lay of the container before putting the angels fund. To them, it will seem close to a "new tank" so it will filch them a while to set up their new domain and the rainbows will have already cultured where they can walk for safety. Still, I'd hang on to a close eye out for aggression and be ready to separate them if important.
Well not sure about eh combo, but i do know that the race at the pet store should be able to enlighten which are male and which are feminine, just ask them. also snails are ok near just almost any fish, i have have them with goldfish, tetras, platys, mollys, angel fish, infant sharks, catfish, garamis i think i hold.
