Why doesn't my below gravel filter work?
I enjoy had it but none of the stuff will step to the bottom of the tank
I verbs my tank next to bleach, so its nice and clean, The algae keep coming back. what should I do?
Answers: Do you do hose down changes contained by your tank between the cleanings?
That will keep hold of the nitrates down and the algae won't be so fast to grow. Also if your container is sitting in anykind of direct sunlight will effect algae. Algae is a natural piece and the best thing to do is attain an algae eater, a bristle nosed plecostomus will hold it under control for the most division.
I'll comment on the bleach thing, to be precise no way to control algae.
I own used bleach also to clean tank. When I do, I make sure to rinse it very well, then consent to what ever I have bleached completely dry out. Also put together sure you have 100% bleach, any other additives contained by it would be some kind of soaps, explicitly a NO NO I then dance overboard on the declorinator when filling wager on up.
Bleach scares the hell outa populace, so you'll get flamed here, as I will for what I have only said in my post.
Flame on society I have broad shoulders and I can nick it.
I have have tanks in a minute for years. never have I lost a fish because of bleach.. may own lost them to my Jaguar. but never to bleach.
DO NOT CLEAN YOUR TANK WITH BLEACH! ABSOLUTLEY NOT! You are not supposed to clean tank with anything but a sponge and hot hose down, NO CLEANING PRODUCTS, unless it is specialy made for tanks. Under gravel filter are basically worthless most the time an smaller amount you get a top dollar one. I reccommend once you rinse your reservoir well, becuase the bleach will slay any fish, that you get a few otocinclus. They will bring care of your problem.
Now rob all your fish out of the cistern, if they aren't dead already, and scrub the container with a sponge, but fashion sure there isn't anything on the sponge. Then tolerate hot water run through it for 10-20 minutes. Then you can incorporate everything else back into the cistern.
Happy Fish Keeping! >(>+)
Under gravel filter are ok if they are maintained although I don't contemplation for them myself. If you are having an algae problem your reservoir must be getting to much light any from leaving the cistern light on to long or from the cistern being within direct sunlight.Try moving the tank if its close by a window or disappearing the light on smaller quantity.
BLEACH IS A BIG NO NO. I'm surprised know one has told you past. Please bye a book on looking after your fish tank. They don't own to cost much.
