Should i gain a fish for christmas?
Answers: PLEASE don't put ANY fish in a bowl...that is to say so cruel...and especially no goldfish. Ever seen them contained by ponds? They are HUGE over a foot long and live over 20-30 years, and they are lucky to be alive after a week in a tiny bowl. Go near a ten gallon and get a manly betta fish with some tetras, khuli loaches, otocinclus, dwarf frogs, platies, guppies (if the betta plays nice), danios, or minnows. You can enjoy a nice community tank next to a betta as a centerpiece with live plants-won't that be so much better than a miserable fish contained by a bowl?
I would also read up on cycling a tank, nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia level, as well as CO2, and fish compatibility

Long story short. You have to verbs them every 2 weeks. change clean. make sure marine ok. can;t over feed them or transport go mank
small fish is harder to steal care of than a voluminous fish. I used to have an OSCAR fish, they are uncomplicated to take charge of, but do need a big cistern. Smaller fish need to enjoy a school (lots) of same fish. That is why you see Tetras adjectives group together, they are more of a social fish. Where as the larger fish are more lonewolves.

First of all, do NOT put your fish surrounded by a bowl. These are horrible places to keep fish and will ultimately shorten its time.
If you want a small tank, carry a ten gallon and stock it with small hardy fish, such as white clouds or platies. Or you could hang on to a betta and a few other fish for a nice community tank.
Fish are profoundly of responsibility, so be sure you know how to care for them back you get any.
