Thinking nearly getting a puffer fish?
i have never have a salt hose fish before.
but surmise that the are the cutest fish
i want to do this right though.
and make the best home for him.
also what other fish could i own with him as company.
so that he is not lonely?
Answers: First past its sell-by date you don't have to do a saltwater cistern for puffer fish. They range from true freshwater puffers to full saline and in between as you would expect you have the brackish river puffers.

I have a porcupine puffer and he is my favorite fish. Keep any fish he can fit within his mouth out of the tank or it will be dinner. My favorite set-up ever be a Puffer, a lionfish and a eel in a 55 gallon reservoir. Other than at feeding time they vanished each other alone. Puffers seem to be to get along beside each other too so you could hold another puffer with it. I enjoy had some within the past that refuse to eat anything but live food and some that would guzzle things like frozen krill. Unless you plan on constantly buying feeders I would ask the fish store dude to nurture him before you buy him to sort sure he will eat limp stuff.
