How much electricity does a fish cistern filter (46 gallon) cost per month? (approximately)?
Answers: Depends on what equipment you are using but follow the points below to work it out.
look at the power rating on each item of equipment and multiply this by how long it is on per light of day (IE filters pumps would be 24hrs, lights vote 8-10hrs and you will have to estimate kiln time, say 8hrs).
later add up adjectives the items.
This will be your consumption per day within kilowatt hours or units of power.
Look on your electricity bill for the price you take-home pay per unit later multiply this by your total consumption, for monthly multiply by 30.
Example, my 400l tank:
lights 4 x40w bulbs on for 8hrs =1.28kWh
filter 2x 20w = 0.96kWh
heaters 2x 200w for 8hrs = 3.2kWh
total = 5.44kWh per day
electricity ( i suggest is 8p per unit)
5.44 x 9 = 48.96p per day so influence 50p
50p x 30 = lb15.00 per month
phew!! hope this helps
