Fish cross-examine??

We have some really nice big rocks surrounded by my back patio, and my mom seed that I could brake 1 up and put it within my fish aquarium. Do I just boil it a few times, them put it surrounded by the aquarium?

Answers:    Boiling them (I suggest 1 hour should be plenty) will help to verbs them and to kill any bugs, bug eggs or microbes living in or on them, but you also entail to make sure that they won't mess near the PH of your water. The easiest bearing to do this is to use a vinegar test. Pour a bit bit of white vinegar onto the rocks in several different places. If the vinegar foams up, consequently there is a chemical spontaneous effect to calcium carbonate or other reactive agent in the rocks and they will leach this into the hose and raise your PH and you shouldn't use them contained by the aquarium. If there is no hostile response then they should be fine.
yes, because it may be enjoy bugs or other thing, later you have to verbs the hole tank
but ask your parents first back doing this.
Yes you should boil it a few times, let it dry out surrounded by the sun, and then boil it 1 more time!
First, pour some vinegar on the rock. If it bubbles or foams, probably don't want to attach it, it'll raise the ph within your tank. If it doesn't, scrub it beside a brush, then shift ahead and boil it to kill stale any icky's that may be living on it.
I've also added rocks from outside to one of my tanks and i found the over boiling them, I scrubbed them next to aquarium salt, them boiled them again and they hold been fine.
clean up it by hand and no soap and than boil it and that should be fine
