Answers: Have fun choosing your fish, but for goodness' sake don't buy a goldfish for your small tank!
1. They procure big, over 7 inches long in an aquarium.
2. They are cool sea fish and will be stressed in a tropical fish cistern.
3. They can live a long time. Few of us are prepared to care for a fish that can live as long as a dog or cat.
4. They produce more throw away than most fish. Power filter(s) are noisy and weekly 25% marine changes are no fun. But you'll have need of both to keep a goldfish alive within a 10 gal.
Dwarf gouramis (colorful, small, peaceful) corydoras catfish (small, useful container cleaners, fun to watch) are great fish for a small tank. Your number 1 rule is not to overdo it by buying too abundant fish. And number 2 is don't overfeed! Have fun.
