What the traffic beside so various inhabitants buying a fish and afterwards when later run into issues asking? ASK FIRST PEOPLE?
Answers: I know. I have a fit yesterday at Petsmart because when I asked about a 2.5 gallon cistern for my niece (I'm getting her a betta for her birthday) in a color excluding black, they said "Well, we have this surrounded by purple and green" and held up a "betta tank" that looked like those plastic containers I used to stop ladybugs in. It be less than a partly gallon. When I looked appalled and said I refused to put a fish that will grow to 4-6 inches within a coffin sized tank, she argued beside me and said the bettas they had wouldnt grow any bigger than what they enjoy.
My husband and I walked out of the store (my betta is more than 4 contained by long from mouth to end of his tail) because after that and when I looked at a "gold ingots fish tank" they had, the instructions suggested 1 fantail surrounded by a 1.7 gallon, 2 in their 2.5 gallon and 4 surrounded by their 5.5 gallon. I was fuming.
Ive also have people near ask me why would someone get a betta or goldfish when their lifespan is single 6 months. GR! Its only 6 months when you keep hold of them in a tiny cell and slowly eliminate them!
I admit I didnt do the research when I get Monet, I stupidly trusted the people at Petsmart and Petco (granted its the culture at my local stores that are idiots, not all of the petsmarts). After I get him I did the research and promptly got him a 2.5 gallon cistern and now Im hugely tempted to get hold of him a 5.5 gallon just because he like live plants so much and 5.5 gallons would give him more room for them.
This "they dont grow any bigger than their tank"-myth is like mad of the problem.
Im going to keep a german shepherd contained by a rabbit cage because it wont grow any bigger than the round up and that way I will own a rabbit sized german shepherd forever.
calm down grandma
