Best process to verbs a 55 gallon fish reservoir?

I am buying a 55 gallon fish tank (stand, container, fish, water, EVERYTHING!).so far we numeral we keep at tiniest keep 70% of the hose down (in coolers for transfer) and replace the extra 30%. We also, plan to not clean the filter at adjectives, so it can help form the PH level within the water pay for to normal. We don't want to decimate the fish, so we figured we could put the fish that I'm getting (from the fish tank) into my 12 gallon fish cistern, till we get the strange fish tank set up, and river temp to about 76/78 degree. I am not a fish expert.and know a little in the order of fish, but nothing as drastic as transporting a 55 gallon fish container 5 miles away, and brining it home without butchery the fish. Please let me know, if you enjoy anything to add to our plan.or anything that should be changed. Any lend a hand would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Answers:    A 5 mile trip won't be too traumatic for your new fish.

The hoary water within coolers is fine, but you don't really need to hold on to 70% of it, 50% will be plenty. Drop the filter media into the prehistoric water so it stays drizzling and the beneficial bacteria will survive. Also preserve the gravel and decorations submerged.

Check the pH of the original cistern water and the pH of your stroke water. Hopefully they will be close so that when you give them together, there won't be a drastic shift. You want to meeting the pH and temperature as closely as possible until that time adding the fish spinal column.

As far as actually transporting your fish, I'd obtain 1 gallon zip plenty, fill later 1/2 with container water and put your fish into those, separate them by species and size. You can purely let those heaps float in the sea of your 12 gallon, instead of releasing them into it.

Once your 55 is set up, gravel down, filter running, temperature correct, pH checked, float your fish loads for about 15 minutes and next you can begin releasing them into their investigational home.

Your tank should not enjoy to go through a clean cycle, since you will have preserved the microbes from their old set up.

Have fun!
