I have hear people say-so that they buy one at one reputable fish store, and the other at another, so they be sure they aren't breeding siblings (but some people see nought wrong with that, it's a personal opinion). If they're only 2-3 inches surrounded by total length, you've go a bit of a hang about on your hands. Probably nearly 1 1/2 to 2 years, honestly. At that age, they're just not sexually grown-up, and there's no way to even guarantee you're get two of opposite sex. Be tolerant and don't try to force anything. If it's going to happen, it will.
i would read out about a week i be keeping convict cichlids in a 20 gallon and the breed close to every month but after they lay eggs and the little convicts were swimming they use to chomp through them
