Is my oscar dying if he is lay on its side?

Answers:    You'd need a bit more information then only that to determine if this is from stress or not. Oscars can lay on their sides, this is very true, and verbs in the substrate as economically. If you are changing your dampen out regularly, using the proper filtration as these are messy fish, and keeping a varied diet, I would not worried. Any of these factor off kilter can mete out some levels of stress. Observe him closer and longer to see if nearby are any other activities he does that seem to be odd.
Oscars are infamous for resting similar to that. Let it be. If you were to realize your hand into the reservoir and touch it, it would get extremely upset, and be under a huge amount of stress, which is not wholesome. If it doesn't move for more than 20 minutes, attempt to create a current near it to see if it is alive or not.
