Fire mouth cichlid?
Are they too aggressive to be in a community container with African cichlids and Jack Dempsey's?
Answers: Firemouths would be torn to pieces by JD's. See your other grill regarding these multi-cichlid stocking methods.
You might be capable of depending on what African cichlids you have and how big of a cistern. But Fire mouths are from Mexico and are territorial fish. So they really could be a major problem. I would advocate against mixing the two. They grow to about 14 cm if I remember right so they could breed at more or less 9 or 10cm

if your tank is sizeable enough you shouldn't enjoy a problem mixing them as long as they can have in attendance own piece of territory as near all chiclids they do take aggressive at points even more so when breeding
im not to sure what size they mature at but i consider about 3" perchance bigger

The firemouth cichlid[cichlasoma Meeki]. Temperament; A predaceous species that is to say not suitable in a community cistern with small fishes. Breeding size; 4 inches.
Unless they are juveniles I would not advocate you to mix them with other African cichlids and Jack Dempsey's because when they arrive at breeding size they will fight to duo off.
This is one of the most coloured cichlids particular to aquarists,bu the pleasing colours only frustrate the evil disposition. It will eat any fish small plenty to get into it's mouth and it will regularly attack fishes larger than itself, especially if they are placed in the aquarium after the fire-mouths own become accustomed to their surroundings.
Breeding is no problem once the manly has select a mate, but the hobbyist must expect to lose several females before a manly has made a suitable screening. Once a pair own spawned it is best to keep them together for adjectives breedings. Spawns are large and surrounded by true cichlid fashion. Plants are torn up and sand is spit contained by all directions prior to the actual spawning process. Fry are duly good sized by the time they are free swimming and they may be counted upon to devour large amounts of freshly hatch brine shrimp, microworms, and sifted dahnia.
I agree with Ghappy, they will be kill. They're not that aggressive of a cichlid really. The only time they return with somewhat aggressive is when they're breeding. I wouldn't add one to your reservoir set up.
