I necessitate to gravel vac my container, what should I do near my snail and shrimp?

I only get the shrimp 4 days ago so I haven't done a water correction. It spends most of it's time on this piece of bogwood, should I poke it off (as I call for to remove it to gravel vac)?

Will it hide while I'm vaccing? Obviously if the cistern is dark as the lid is flipped up I won't know how to see very in good health.

Anyone's experience would be great, thanks!

Answers:    I walk out all of my fish and my snail and shrimp within the tank while I'm vacuuming. They a moment ago hide surrounded by the corner the whole time. It would be nice to turn a oil lamp on next to your cistern so you can still see so you don't suck any little guys up the siphon.

Edit**
I don't know what Watt your heater is, but when it kick on your snail could be S. Cargo if you don't get him sour.
get a network, and fill up a regular bowl, tupperware container, cup or pretty much any item that can hold water and put the shrimp contained by there the snail will be fine in need water for a long time so it will be fine.
