Taking thought of siamese warfare fish?

Hello. I just bought a siamese conflict fish. It's lenght is about 2 and a partly inches. I also bought a fish bowl about a fist big.
Is that virtuous for the fish? Or will it die cause of that? And btw, i'm feed it with pellet, (i got it for free) what else could i nurture it with? thank you adjectives in finance!!

Answers:    Siamese Fighting Fish should not be placed in a bowl. The fish will survive, but to be sure won't thrive. The fish will most likely die swiftly if the bowl is less than a gallon. Betta use a warren organ which allows them to breathe directly from the surface. Male fighting fish are the ones near long, flowing fins. They are highly territorial and should not be kept near another male betta, masculine gourami, or any fish with long fins. Male bettas won't die if departed alone, but they may die if kept in a bowl.

Many Siamese Fighting Fish (aka betta splenden) owners repeatedly become worried when their fish refuse to drink the pellets. Most experienced betta owners know these fish single eat the pellet because it's better than starving. It's in actuality the worst possible food choice for your betta. Because your considering getting a betta, here is more for you to consider.

Bettas (fighting fish) are native to the sun baked, calf-deep rice paddies of Thailand where on earth the water warmth is 75 - 85F. Oxygen dissipates in heat up water which is why the betta evolved next to the ability to breathe from the upper air. Betta live in rice paddies and use the rice plant to conceal from predator snakes and other fish. You will need a plant contained by your betta tank to provide your fish beside a sense of security. Although your betta breathes from the heavens, he needs verbs and healthy hose down so that he doesn't become susceptible to fin rot, ich and other diseases.

Many people believe that betta fish will snuff anything you put in their reservoir and they must be kept alone. This is not true. Both male and womanly bettas can be kept with other fish, but not within a bowl or tank smaller than 5 gallons. Anyone axiom that male bettas will slaughter anything put in its cistern doesn't know much at all something like these fish.

Here is what you should have for your betta:

5 gallon filter tank utensils (from any major retailer, Wal-Mart etc...)
Tank boiler
Tap water conditioner (always use slap water for bettas)
Silk or live plant.
Smooth rounded gravel or other substrate (must be smooth)
Small siphon for sea changes and vacuuming gravel
Ammonia tryout kit (liquid type is best)
Small network for removing uneaten food
Freeze dried bloodworms (live is best but hard to find)
-only nurture 2-3 pieces twice daily. Remove any uneaten food.

In this 5 gallon set-up, you'll be capable of keep a couple otos, or 3 corys, an African Dwarf Frog (not the clawed ones), a Mystery/Apple Snail or some other compatible fish.

(betta munch through small insects and larvae essentially. Try live wingless fruitflies (from reptile dept), daphnia/zooplankton, live (xsmall) pin head crickets (again from the reptile dept)

Never use larva caught locally unless you are positive the larvae won't fetch parasites or diseases. You can make higher your own to cut down on cost or use freeze dried. It's fairly inexpensive.

Good Luck
how do you know which is which?
