Is Pet Co a well-mannered place to buy fish?

Guppies? and Barbs? and Tetras?, I've had my share of Walmart and i am not going to buy fish in that anymore.

Answers:    Purchasing fish from PETCO, Petland, PetsMart, and yes, even Wal-Mart is fine as long as you know how to select healthy fish and don't rely upon the workers to give you direction. In most cases, you will find that care of fish vary by location so if you happen to find a retailer that doesn't steal proper care of their stock, don't buy from that location. My local Wal-Mart treats their debris their better than their fish. I literally bagged a black moor from in that once, taped a $5 to the cistern and walked out.

Here is a enumerate of guidelines to use when purchasing fish:
Regardless of where you purchase your fish, you should follow like peas in a pod guidelines:

1)Look at the top and sides of the tanks. If most are encrusted beside residue, look for another shop entirely.
2) Look for clear water. If it's discolored, avoid that reservoir. If the water within most tanks is discolored, look for another shop.
3) Scan a partially dozen tanks to see if any fish are sick or enjoy died. If you see more than one sick or dead fish, find another shop.
4)Avoid tank with decaying plants, as the marine chemistry is questionable.
5) Do not buy fish that just arrived contained by the shop. They are stressed from travel, and might be carrying disease.
6) Avoid fish with cloudy eyes, torn or clamped fins, and spots or sores on their body.
7) Avoid fish that are sluggish or appear to be shivering.
8) Look at adjectives the fish in the container. If any appear sick, don't buy a fish from that tank.
9) Choose an involved, alert fish. Take him home and enjoy your untried pet.

The quality of fish will change location to location. Use good buying guildelines and you commonly not have problems regardless of where on earth you buy your fish.
it is alot better than walmart. it all depends on the pet co though i own been surrounded by some that have have almost 30% of their fish dead and i enjoy been within some that take great attention of their animals.
