How do you know when your Beta fish is dying?

I think mine is dying because I saw it on the bottom of the fish reservoir but then it swam up to the top and started to close to swim around really fast contained by like a circle and it's breathing really slow.

If it's too cold, he may be a bit slothful and only become helpful when you are near because he think you are bringing food. Have you tested your water ability lately? Too much ammonia, chlorine, etc. can make him ailing. Do you add aquarium brackish to your tank? Aquarium brackish can help fend rotten a variety of diseases. Also, what size reservoir do you have and what equipment are you running (air pump, filter, etc.)? I really don't hold enough information to receive any idea on his vigour situation.

Well my fish just died and for resembling a week he just sit at the bottom of the tank close to he was sleeping (or dead) but next if I tapped the cistern he would swim a couple of centimeters finally one day he couldn't hold himself strait up and be floating on his side. ~Tear~
