Disagreement nearly shoeing?
My trainer and I are having a disagreement give or take a few shoeing.
To put this in perspective I am within my late 20's and in fact have not taken curriculum from her in years, but I respect her inference and still consider her my trainer, since I am not taking lessons next to anyone else atm. (Anyone know a good Reining barn within Oregon?)
Anyway my mare has funky front foot, and I have NEVER be happy beside the way her shoer have done her feet. So I other used my own.
She is upset because I only enjoy my horse shod on the front feet. One of her front foot doesn't grow heel very speedily. Her back foot are unshod, they are healthy and don't involve shoes.
I spoke with the shoer and he said it would not hurt her to go off the back shoes past its sell-by date, we had her budge barefoot for 6 weeks to see if she NEEDED shoes.
Anyway my trainer is complaining that my mare will get muscle soreness when I am riding her. Especially if we do any serious work.
Answers: A horses front supports the majority of its body weightiness.
Since your mare is not doing any serious work, there is no necessitate to shoe her in the backside.
The exception to this is if she has the type of confirmation that results within her over reaching. If she forges due to confirmation issues, your farrier can address that with specific things similar to offset squares contained by the rear for example.
From your description, it doesn't nouns like to be exact the situation, though.
I do not see any need for her to be shod surrounded by back.
As a disclaimer, I am not a professional and you might want to find another shoers' opinion.
My horses are just shod on the front and only ever own been. Back foot on both are rock solid and the farrier is happy beside them. ( one currently has problems but it's not shoe related)
