Answers: Obviously it's later than what would be just what the doctor ordered and he may continue next to some stallionish behavior such as screaming and bellowing but it's not too late. It's also completely sensible of you to be considering cutting him if you did purchase him and you should be commended for that. no not at all. ive set people to geld stallions elder than 10, even after they have stood them at stud. will lug about a month for him to lose the "feelings" lol. brand sure the vets dont cut him proud!! (there is for a moment thing they necessitate to remove to do this.) i have a purebred arab an he is 5 i will catch him gelded when i no longer have any mares for him so i can run him near my other mares etc. hope this helps :)

I prefer them gelded late! I own/ride a divine horse who was not gelded until he be 6. He's 8 now and is a wonderful partner. He is a bit "studish", and can't be turned out near any mares... but I like the nice testosterone fueled muscles he have now from individual late gelded.
Most times it will be fine to geld them following...he may not bounce back right away from the procedure close to when he was younger. But if you're within love with him...budge for it! I hope you work everything out! :)
It's never too late, but maintain in mind that behind schedule gelding can result in him retaining various dominant stallion personality traits. He may not be moderately as docile as a gelding that was done at a younger age. But it's indeed possible.

A real concern. 1000 +/- pounds of libido isn't confident to control - and I wouldn't recommend a stallion as a general pleasure horse for anyone but a completely experienced rider. Indeed a lot of board -barns won't allow stallions. Yet, I've ridden/shown/worked some dandy stallions near excellent manners - even around mares in boil. You just own to be a lot more measured than you would with a gelding.

It's not too late to geld him. He may still feat like a stud sometime though. I hold seen horses be gelded as behind time as 11 years old. If he is powerfully trained to start with nearby should not be a problem.

It's later than commonplace, but it's not too late to geld him. A friend of mine have her stallion gelded when he was 7, and he's simply as calm as ever.
it's never to behind to geld. he'll still keep stallion resembling behavior for a few years since that's what he's used to and is normal behavior to him but he'll eventually become more gelding similar to as time goes on. flawless luck and i wouldn't not consider this horse because he's a stallion!
I gelded a 12 year old warmblood that I import form germany. He was not coltish contained by the least. Don't verbs about it, also, we geld most of the racehorses at 4 and don't hold any problems. If you speak to the owner about your concerns, she may even include the gelding contained by the sale price.
