Do rats fashion appropriate pets ?
Answers: They make superb pets.
They are importantly intelligent-as smart as many breeds of dog and smarter than cats or ferrets-and if handle from a young age VERY affectionate. They can be skilled tricks and love cuddles.
Males tend to be more lazy once fully developed and will sit with you for hours.Females are more involved, they will sit with you for a bit but consequently be off exploring again. They have need of company so 2 of the same sex is best.
Their coop needs to be BIG and it will involve cleaning out twice a week. They need time out of the pen with you too.
They are not a pet for everyone as their intelligence and social disposition means they have need of a lot more attention than read aloud hamsters or gerbils do.However if you have the time nearby are few better pets.
The only concrete downside is they only live 2 or 3 years usually.
I guess unless they are the so call woods rat.
Yes. they do.
they do i had two a few years ago and they would sit on my shoulder and put away out of my hand they are slickly tamed and i never had problems beside mine biting, they can smell but if ou keep cleaning them out they don't smell,
i have two females and bought them from babies my kids loved them as they could hold them
yes rats are awsome they are like a mini dog. u can drill them tricks and they love people.in recent times treat them right and they will love u forever.
yea they do!
yea but hamsters are good and better to verbs up after and easier
they make brilliant pets they are hurried to learn friendly & cleaner than hamsters, they love to iteract beside you,
they use their hands to hold things even your finger,
ew no!!!
They're completely social rodents, more so than any other, and love to learn so keeping them colonized with lots of things to do and human interaction is basically what they will want. Cuddles, sitting on your shoulder, just unanimously being next to you. They're very verbs animals, contrary to popular belief, domesticated rats do not carry diseases close to their wild cousins would. They hang on to themselves clean as they're constantly wash themselves and they do like dampen so shallow baths would keep them nice and verbs too. Cleaning their cage out twice a week at the most would hold on to that smelling and looking clean. They're fundamentally friendly and very affectionate. They do prefer anyone in pairs of their own sex, as it's probably deeply safer. Being on their own, I don't think they'd live merry to be honest, especially as they're so social and loving.
They do. My sister had a pet rat a few years ago, she be heart broken when he died. He was kinda creepy though, he'd run into this weird trance staring into space and next start swaying slightly from side to side. Apart from that he was such a cool pet. I miss him in truth.
i currently have 7 rats..two boys and five girls. they get gret pets..they are so social and cuddly, you can teach them tricks and they are awfully clean. You can guide them to toilet in one nouns which should be cleaned every other day and they should be thoroughly cleaned out weekly.
The boys are chilled out and will spend most of theday person lazy..the girls are much more playful and prefer company. Boys can be kept alone as i own done with two of my boys..but the current ones i hold are father and son and are just so similar it make you laugh!
if anyone is ever thinking of getting a hamster etc..i other say attain a rat as they are extremely rewarding for a pet with such a doomed to failure rep...and in the time i've owned 40 or so rats..i've solely been bitten once..and that be by a traumatised rescue rat!
