Not getting along?

i have a buckskin horse and a pitt bull and every time i agree to the dog out he runs and barks at the barrier and trys to hurt my horse. i keep the dog inside and try to not agree to the two get around respectively other but how do i calm my dog down? the dog is close to a kitten to people but he basically hate that horse!

Answers:    Maybe your dog is panicky of the horse so he is barking to hold him away. I know that my dogs bark and conduct yourself like they are going to drink other animals. But its only because they are upset. My dogs would never hurt anyone or anything, they just try to put on a front.
Has your dog see a horse before? He may simply be afraid because it's the first time he's seen one. Keep him on a leash around the horse, at a distance. And agree to him see you petting the horse and taking care of it - once he realize that it's a friend to you, he'll probably chill out. Sometimes it just take a couple of weeks of slow introductions.
