Is it official within Kentucky to adopt a pet monkey?

I'm going to adopt a monkey. I live in the "country" where on earth you are allowed to keep sheep farm animals, so is it legal to hold on to a pet monkey in the state of Kentucky?
I see no cause why it should be illegal.

Answers:    It is NOT permissible in Kentucky to adopt or purchase a monkey, but if you have it previous to July 2005, you may keep it.
