the counteracting remedy for rat poison (warfarin...its a blood thinner, also known as "Coumadin" used for relatives with heart problems, but surrounded by MUCH smaller does) is a massive dose of vitamin K intravenously. Vitamin K is also found in leafy green vegetables (romaine lettuce, broccoli..etc.) but if a dog have been poisoned and requests immediate veterinary give a hand, there isn't any time for messing around next to food.
It takes YEARS of schooling to become a vet. Some vote (including myself) that its actualy MORE difficult to study to become a vet than a human doctor. Animals aren't able to explain their symptoms, nor "what hurts." Vets also enjoy to memorize many species of animals (aside from more specialized "exotic vets" that must know adjectives the "basic" animals..THEN SOME)...and know how every part works, what could step wrong with guaranteed parts, and how to correctly remedy injuries/diseases. Its a lot of complex work, but if you're dedicated to your studies, and never forget why you're becoming a vet (to lift good watchfulness of our animals) you'll be successful indeed. Just go into things next to good intentions, not next to the thoughts of dollar signs dancing surrounded by your mind.
