Claiming pet from animal shelter?

I am 19 years old and my parents give away our dog to the animal shelter. saying he found her surrounded by the parking lot, and I feel so desperate and my friend is allowing me to keep it at her place until we find her a home. I a short time ago need to know how much would it cost to bring her out of the animal shelter, and what do they need from me? I own all the papers, such as vaccination and license but they are under my dad's first name but I do have a acceptance of when I took her grooming it says her autograph on it and mine. Will they give me a frozen time? My parents don't know about this because they won't permit me. It's the animal shelter in San Diego, Ca. and she's be there for 3 weeks presently and no adoptions, I hold been checking the website similar to 2 times a day. I go and visited her and she be going crazy barking and crying and jump up and down, I care just about her a lot and I merely want to find her a home before they euthanize her

Also, how long do they maintain them before euthanizing them?

Answers:    There are 2 routes you can move about. If you're limited on money, you'll want to know which will be smaller number expensive for you.

1 - Call and ask how much it is to adopt a dog. You'll get a price - prob. betw. $50-$100 which will include shots and spay/neutering (or you may hold to agree to spay her after adoption if she's not already spayed)

2 - Call another time and ask if your dog were picked up, how much would it be to return with her back. There will probably be a per daylight rate (maybe $5/day) and there possibly other charges

If 2 is less, when you shift to get her, show your papers. Since your mark is on at least 1, and you enjoy the same address as your dad on the other and you're over 18, I don't deduce you'll have any problem claiming her.

The sooner you can do this, the better. Some shelters enjoy a set time that they keep an animal earlier euthanizing it, others will keep them till they get hold of too crowded.

If your dog is a specific breed, check online for rescue groups that specialize in that breed. Often they enjoy volunteers to foster animals until they can find permanent homes.

Best of luck!!
this is a short time ago wrong. I think you should turn there and speech to them and explain the situation and i think you should next speak to your parents about why they did it?
