How do you put a ferret on a diet when here is another one within the shut within next to it?

I got another ferret over the summer, so my little girl wouldn't be lonely, but he is getting really rotund. I don't know how to put him on a diet without depriving my girl of ample food. If anyone can help, please please please respond to this. Thank you!
