Weird pet relationships - any thoughts?

I have 2 2yo feminine cats (one calico "Shorty" who belongs to me, one torti "Heidi" who belongs to my boyfriend). I also have a 10yo feminine dog "Shane". My girls are very economically mannered & fun-loving. Shane & Shorty are the best of friends. I tell Shane "take the cat!" all the time, & she chases her around, & after Shorty turns & they play tag, jump on each other for hours. They are inseparable, & never play too rough, growl, hiss, chisel or bite. Occasionally the dog humps the cat... not really sure that's normal, but not worried in the order of it either. Heidi... she's okay near Shorty. They'll play sometimes & give respectively other baths. No fighting nearby either. But the dog ignore Heidi, completely. She can get so revved up, but never even looks at her. On her passageway to find Shorty she'll run right by Heidi (who just sits in attendance watching as if to say she's not a child anymore) as if she isn't at hand. Any ideas on why my dog is too close near one cat, yet ignore the other?

Answers:    I'd chalk it up to personal preference. Just as you might assemble two people and really click next to one but not the other for no particular pretext, animals can do the same. It may also be that Shorty is more interested contained by interacting and that Heidi gives Shane some subtle "attain lost" or "don't even think almost it" signals.
Does Heidi live with you adjectives the time? If not, maybe the dog is used to have Shorty around, but is not too sure of Heidi because she doesn't see her enough. Maybe Shorty is more aggressive than Heidi and she catch Shanes attention more easily. It's complicated to quess what animals are thinking! Maybe a call to Dr. Doolittle is contained by order!
I enjoy ny own forum its is http://hamster13.smfforfree3.com... its mainly more or less hamster but is also about adjectives animals
Probably one point in time Heidi may own gotten a good swipe on your dog and the dog know not to tap that A** anymore.
