Will my guinea pigs be okay surrounded by a kitty litter bed for the dark. I cleaned their hold short realize...?

I didn't have satisfactory bedding left. Its after ten so I run to the supermarket in hopes of finding bedding but they didn't enjoy any. I bought all inbred kitty litter in hopes they could closing in that for the dark. I plan on running out early within the morning to get them some bedding. I don't know what else to do. I don't want to start out them without bedding, but if the kitty litter is that discouraging I guess I have no choice.
I would stick them contained by the cage near a towel, but they always try to get through those when I give them a tub. Which is worse?

Answers:    spray the kitty litter with rather bit of water from a spray bottle to hang on to the dust down and maybe put some shredded dissertation over the litter.. they should be fine until you get some..
I wouldn't use kitty litter. What if they devour it?

Try lining the bottom of the hold with rag, or you could even try a small layer of timothy hay.

I'm sure they will be fine until the morning, honest luck!
I'm not sure about the kitty litter; those things will devour anything and its no where in close proximity good for them to even try to digest...I have that happen to me lots of times next to my guinea pig though. I usually just used doesn`t matter what bedding I had moved out and newspaper if I really have to or even grass. Then when I got more bedding I freshly put some more in and vanished it that way until it needed changed again.
