Prorated pet deposit?

If I am in a 7 month lease, which I already rate a premium for, should I have to retribution a full pet deposit if I just get the dog and my lease is up in 2 1/2 months or can it be prorated? Texas Resident

Answers:    It will entirely depend on your tenant.

If I were your innkeeper, I'd actually charge the full pet deposit, even though I'm a rampant animal lover. This is because I know first-hand how much deface a dog can do in a short spell of time and I know how easy it is for a manager to get stuck dealing near that damage. But adjectives landlords are a little different and I have an idea that it's most affected by their own personal experience. If they are animal lovers who've with the sole purpose owned well-behaved pets, they might have no problem next to a pro-rated deposit. In any event, it's completely their call -- you'll basically have to ask!

Good luck!
