HAMSTER?? Please facilitate?

I just get a teddybear hamster from petco and the employee told us to grasp a three story cage. We did but he doesn't come across to know how to get up here and when he does he just jump off because he doesn't know how to receive down. Is that safe? Should I take a new shut within thats only one story??
Answers: Don't ever listen to Petco human resources; they're trained to sell you the most expensive things they can that are of lowest possible use to pets. Three story cages are expected for animals that are active climbers, close to ferrets and rats; they are also designed for animals that are smart enough to know that leap off ledges is NOT not detrimental (if you put a rat and a hamster on a desk, you'll notice that the hamster will try to leap to its doom, while the rat will not). My guess would be that you compensated upwards of $50 and probably way more for that three-story coop when it's not meant for a hamster within the first place.

The best habitat you can provide for a hamster includes lots of tunnels, because they naturally live surrounded by tunnels (not on three-story mountains), and hiding places, like an igloo. They also love soft blankets and will drag them into their hiding places. You should particularly exchange your expensive three-story cage for a colossal one-story, and attach tubes all around it so your hamster can run around and enjoy fun. On a side note, my cuddly toy bear hamster is reasonably fat, so engineer sure you get sizeable tunnels that he or she won't get stuck within!

Have fun!
let it explore, it will be only just fine
