What's wrong beside my rats?
I have two rats (boys) and they be living in a aquarium up until something like 3 weeks ago, they were never enormously active contained by the aquarium which i understand because here wasn't that much to do but I bought them a cage and a hammock and an appetizing house and a climbing rope and made them a little house out of a lunchbox, but they are still unused! all they want to do is sleep surrounded by their lunchbox. All the other rats I've seen are adjectives hyper, well not hyper but at least possible they play n run around n stuff. WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY RATS?!?!?!?
Sorry if this is a little long but it's vital. :(
Thanks
Answers: Male rats over the age of 6 months tend to be fairly slothful, but you can try stimulating them with the toy philosophy found here: http://www.dapper.com.au/ or just playing next to them (some rats love hand wrestling, for example).
Edit: The round up your boys are in is rather on the small side. According to the rat cage calculator found here http://www.rattycorner.com/odds/calc.sht... , "This shut within will hold up to 2 rats if the space is used wisely." This system the cage wishes shelves positioned in such a approach that the rats have natural access to every single square centimetre of the cage - a hold without shelves have a lot of "unconscious air" that the rats have no access to, and hence it's wasted space. Please pinch note and build shelves, and your boys might a moment ago become a bit more active surrounded by order to explore.
theres nil wrong with them they only are lazy some rats are so don't verbs
